Installation and Configuration Worksheet

Review the information in Installation values to establish a naming convention for your installation values.

Use the worksheet to gather and remember information for installation and afterward for post-install configuration. This information is required for installation.

Note:  Where there are two names listed in the Variable Name column, the first refers to the field name on the installation screens. The second name refers to the shorthand term used for that variable in this install guide.

Framework Services install directory

The Framework Services installation location within the base directory location. This value is set during installation. The default is FrameworkServices.

Reporting Services install directory

RS_Home

The Reporting Services installation location.

Note: This variable must be defined only if you are installing Reporting Services.
This value is set during installation. The default is ReportingServices.

Smart Notification install directory

– or –

SN_Home

The Smart Notification installation location.

Note: This variable must be defined only if you are installing Smart Notification.
This value is set during installation. The default is SmartNotification.

Oracle

Database Server Name

Database port number

Oracle SID (system ID)

The identifiers used to connect to the Oracle database. Set up these values before installing the application.

MS SQL

Host Port Number

– or –

MS SQL Server port

The port MS SQL Server listens to. The MS SQL Server port was set when it was installed. The default is 1433.

Host Name

– or –

Server name

The fully-qualified DNS name of the server where you plan to install the application.

This value was set when the machine was placed on the network.

The name is similar to: MyServer.MyCompany.com

For example, d2kp.lawson.com.

Base Install Directory The directory where Infor BI for Lawson products is installed.

This value is set during installation. The default is:

C:\InforLawsonBI

Note: You can use the default installation value, however, as a best practice, establish a naming convention for different systems you may install.

Name of the Framework Services user login

– or –

User name

The Framework Services user login name.

This is configured as part of the data source definition.

This value is set up before installation by the DBA and is used to communicate with the repository. The suggested value is lbiadmin.

Note: This user must have CONNECT, RESOURCE, and CREATE VIEW authority, along with access to the tablespace.

Name of the Reporting Services user login

User name, if installed

The Reporting Services user login name.

This is configured as part of the data source definition.

This value is set up before installation by the DBA and is used to communicate with the repository. The suggested value is lbiadmin.

Note: This user must have CONNECT, RESOURCE, and CREATE VIEW authority, along with access to the tablespace.

Name of the Smart Notification user login

– or –

User name, if installed

The Smart Notification user login name.

This is configured as part of the data source definition.

The DBA sets up this value is set up before installation. This value is used to communicate with the repository. The suggested value is lbiadmin.

Note: This user must have CONNECT, RESOURCE, and CREATE VIEW authority, along with access to the tablespace.

Crystal Reports Server

Crystal_Home

The installation location of Crystal Reports Server. This path was set during installation of Crystal Reports.

WebSphere installation directory

– or –

WAS_Home

The WebSphere installation location.

This value is set during installation of WebSphere.

The default is C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer.

Note: As a best practice, select another drive for your installation and use a path without spaces.

WebSphere Application Server Name The name of the application server.

This value is set during the installation of WebSphere.

The default for new WebSphere installations is server1.

Note: As a best practice, match the values with those used for your base installation directory.

WebSphere Profile Name

The profile name for the WebSphere application server installation.

This value is set during installation of WebSphere.

The default for a new WebSphere installation is AppSrv01.

Note: As a best practice, match the values with those used for your base installation directory.

JNDI values The names for JNDI values in WebSphere.

The JNDI values were set up during the WebSphere data source creation

We recommend these defaults:

  • jdbc/LawsonFS

  • jdbc/LawsonRS

  • jdbc/LawsonSN

Framework Services URL The URL for the Framework Services server. This value was set during installation of Framework Services. The default is http://MyServer.MyCompany.com:9080/efs/.
