Infor BI for Lawson authentication

Authentication is a post-installation requirement that determines whether users and their passwords are valid in a given context. Most Infor BI for Lawson applications do not store passwords. Instead, they use a third-party provider of authentication, called an authentication provider. The third-party product that provides lists of roles and users is a role provider.

You can use the System Configuration Assistant to modify the system configuration. It is accessible throughTools > System.

These authentication providers are supported by Lawson:

  • File Based (FileAuthenticationProvider)

  • Lawson IOS (LoganAuthenticationProvider)

  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAPAuthenticationProvider)

  • Microsoft Active Directory (MSADAuthenticationProvider)

  • Services Automation (ServicesAutomationAuthenticationProvider)

  • Relational Table or View / Relational Stored Function (DBTableAuthenticationProvider)

  • Distributed Single Sign-On (DSSO)

These role providers are supported by Lawson:

  • File Based (FileRoleProvider)

  • Lawson IOS (LoganRoleProvider)

  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAPRoleProvider)

  • Microsoft Active Directory (MSADRoleProvider)

  • Services Automation (ServicesAutomationRoleProvider)

    Note:

While you can use the SA role provider with any authentication provider, it does not create any role or user lists.

  • Relational queries (DBTableRoleProvider)

  • Distributed Single Sign-On (DSSO)

Note:

If Lawson Environment 8.0.3. is used as the authentication source (role provider), Framework Services users must be part of the Logan product line.
