Creating a device

  1. On the Central Device Management main page, click New. The Add Device form is displayed.
  2. In Use device for application, select to which application you would like to add the device.
  3. Specify this information:
    For a Framework or Reporting Services device, the required fields are Name, Address, and Device Type. Description is optional.

    For a Smart Notification device, the required fields are Name, Address, Device Type, Cascading Device, and Template.

    Note: You can click Clear Form to clear the fields and reset the information to their default values.
  4. Click Save. A message is displayed if saving is successful.
  5. Click Close to return to the main page. A newly created Smart Notification device is automatically confirmed.
