Adding or modifying related information

Use this procedure to specify what is to be delivered, what related information to include, and how it should be formatted.

  1. Go to Related Info of the Notification wizard.
  2. Click Results to Include to specify the inclusion and display of results in a notification.
    Tell me if:
    Select the option corresponding to how you want tables and charts to display. By default, tables and charts are displayed down the screen or page. The default chart type is the bar chart.

    For example, if you select 2 columns, the results of the notification are placed side by side.

    You can only see the effect of this option if a notification results in more than one table of data.

    Do not display empty tables
    Select this check box to hide tables that contain no data.
    Chart details drop-down
    Select the type of display for the data range.
    • Do not display: Select this option if you do not wish to have a chart display.
    • Default: Select this option to include a representation of your data with descriptions of filters and conditions applied.
    • Configured Chart: Select this option to use the Infor Charts interface to modify your chart's display.
    • Default - Simple: Select this option to include a representation of your data without descriptions of filters and conditions applied.
    • Table bars for last column: Select this option to display the data as a table with bars for the last column.
    • Table: Top x (5, 10, 15, 20): Table display of data. However, the displayed data contains only the Top x items in the data range.
    • Table: Top x%: Table display of data. However, the displayed data contains only the Top x% items in the data range.
    • Pie Chart: Standard 3D pie chart.
    • Pie Chart Top x (5, 10, 15, 20): Standard 3D pie charts. However, the displayed data contains only the Top x items in the data range, and an Other bucket for the accumulation of all the others in the data range.
    • Pie Chart: Top x%: Standard 3D pie charts. However, the displayed data contains only the Top x% items in the data range, and an Other bucket for the accumulation of all the others in the data range.
    • Default Chart: Standard 3D bar chart.
    • Line Chart: Standard 3D line chart.
    • Area Chart: Standard 3D Area chart.
    • Horizontal Chart: This option is a Horizontal Bar chart.
    • Quad/XY: Standard scatter chart.
    • Table with IM icons: Standard table that includes IM icons.
    • Round Buttons: Colored buttons showing the traffic lighting colors of the date.
    • Dial: Displays dials like a car speedometer.
    • Gauge: Displays thermometer-like images.
    • Custom: Allows you to customize the display of the data using a parameter document that describes how to format each row of data.
    Include default table
    Select this check box to list a table of results underneath whatever data representation you chose from the lists.
    Options
    Click this link to add additional parameters to the item.

    The FusionCharts documentation site (http://docs.fusioncharts.com/charts/) contains a list of parameters for each chart type. You can list multiple parameters using the & sign. See Using FusionCharts

    Customize links
    Click this link to customize the item's linking options. The Customize Links screen is displayed. Specify how you want links to applications and other notifications to be handled. All links that were created in the InfoSet are on this screen.
    Charts
    Click this link to access the Infor Charts interface.
    1. Select Configured Chart.
    2. Click the Charts link.
      Note: The link only works with the Configured Chart option.
    3. Modify your chart as needed.
    4. Click Save. See Using FusionCharts.
  3. Click the Auto-Relate tab to add links to additional content.
  4. Specify the search item in the Search field and click Search.

    To restrict your search, select the check boxes corresponding to the categories in which you want to search.

    A list of all items that matched your search criteria is displayed. The best matches are displayed first. If more than one page of search results is returned, click Next Page to view the next page of results.

  5. Specify the items to attach.
    • If the file is not in the Search Results list, it may not be in the system. If you have access to the file locally, you can click Add a File and add the file.
    • If the file you want to include is in the Search Results list, click the Add link in the Actions column to add it to the My Files section.

    Some files in the Search Results list contain the New link. Click the New link to modify the corresponding search result. When you click the New link, the system displays the Conditions of the Notification wizard where you can edit the selection.

    Note: When you select the New link, you will lose any changes you have made to the current notification.
  6. Click the Links tab to add links to URL-addressable content such as web pages and documents.
    Name
    Specify a name for the custom link.
    Web address
    Specify the URL corresponding to the custom link.
  7. Click Add to add your link to the My Custom URLs section.
  8. Click Search EPM to search for the URL corresponding to the specific item you want to include in the related link.

    Framework Services allows you to add a static link to a single item or a dynamic link to a list of items. For more information about searching, see the Framework Services User and Administration Guide.

  9. Click the Formatting Template tab to customize the format of the notification. Templates can be as simple as one unformatted line of text to highly formatted reports using images and style sheets.

    Use an appropriate formatting template for each device type. For example, do not send a richly formatted HTML template to a device that can only display a few lines of plain text.

    Use this template
    Select the template to use. The system generates this list from the list of templates that are shared with you or have been uploaded by you through the Personal Settings page.
    Preview this template
    Click this link to preview the template you selected.
    For these devices
    Select the delivery device. There are several default device types that your administrator can modify.
  10. Click Add to add your link to the Your Template section.
