System permissions

By default, Smart Notification has two user types:

  • Administrator
  • User

If a user is included in the authentication file's Administrator group, that user can access all of the forms and functionality within Smart Notification. When an Administrator logs into Smart Notification, the Admin button is displayed in the toolbar of the Smart Notification screen.

This button launches the Admin Utilities screen, which contains links to all of the Smart Notification administration utilities. For example, Work with Data Sources and Import User Devices.

The System Permissions option, which is available to Administrators, allows an Administrator to assign additional functions to any Smart Notification user or group.

For example, an Administrator can grant a user the ability to work with Data Sources. An Administrator can grant a user the ability to define and edit the InfoSets that are used for Alerts.

The Admin button is displayed in the toolbar of the Smart Notification screen if a user has been granted specific administrative rights.
