Saving an InfoSet
Use to save an InfoSet.

Go to Save InfoSet of the InfoSet
wizard.
- Group Name
- Select a group or click New to create a group for the InfoSet.
- Name
- Specify a name for the InfoSet.
- Display Name
- Specify the InfoSet name to show in notifications and
reports.
Smart Notification saves the display name in the location you set up. For example, if the user's location is US English, then the display name is saved as US English. However, users with other locations can modify the display name to create a display name for their specific locations.
If Smart Notification cannot find the location, it defaults to the first location.
- Description
- Specify a description of the InfoSet. This description is displayed on the Work With InfoSets screen.
- Categories
- Optionally, specify the category to assign the InfoSet.
When you click the plus sign, the Pick Tree Locations screen is displayed.
- Use the Navigate section to help locate the category to add the InfoSet.
- Use the Your Selection section to verify or remove your selections.
- Create notifications from a local snapshot of this data.
- Optionally, select this option to cache the InfoSet data in a binary
format, which is stored in the Smart Notification repository as a
BLOB. If you select this option, you must update and process the InfoSet
separately.
Clear this check box to retrieve data from the data source, populate the InfoSet, and deliver the notification in one step. Comparison functions, for example, Conditions, cannot be done using this method.
- This is a very large InfoSet (>20,000 records).
- Select this option only if you have selected the Create notification from a local snapshot of this
data option.
Optionally, select this option to cache the data and store it in the Smart Notification repository as a database table with columns and records. If you select this option, you must update and process the InfoSet separately.
- Give Access to
- Specify who can use the InfoSet to create notifications and reports.
- Structure
- Optionally, select a structure you created in Reporting Services.
- Element to Field Mapping:
- Optionally, select the element. Note: The Filtering Content options apply when you have set up Smart Notification to use Reporting Services rights.

Click one of these:
- Save to save an existing InfoSet.
- Save Updates to save a modified InfoSet.
- Save as New to save the modified InfoSet as a new InfoSet.
Your InfoSet is displayed in the Work with InfoSets screen under the group where you saved the InfoSet.
- On the Work with InfoSets screen, locate the saved InfoSet.
- Click Needs Updated. This populates the InfoSet with information from the data source.
