Viewing the Report Schedule Queue

Report Schedule Queue serves as an audit trail for the creation of publications during the processing of scheduled reports. It is enabled once you run a scheduled report and is bursted by cached at creation time.

Note: 

If you cannot view reports in the Report Schedule Queue, ensure that your reports are set up and scheduled correctly.

To view the Report Schedule Queue

  1. Open the Tools dashboard and select Report Administration to open the Reporting Services Administration screen.
  2. Select Report Management > Report Schedule Queue to open the Report Schedule Queue screen.
  3. Specify this information:
    Report Name

    Select the name of the report. The description is displayed in the My Reports module.

    Historical Instance

    Select the creation date and time of an instance. It will only be populated after a report name is chosen.

    User

    User of a report.

    Status

    Publication states of a cached report are:

    • Pending – The process of creating a file is started.

    • Active – The publication file is being created.

    • Completed – The publication file has been created successfully.

    • No File (RPT) on Disk – The process of creating a publication file is successful but it failed to produce a publication file.

    • Failed – The process of creating a publication file was unsuccessful.

    • No Right on File – Notifies that there are no rights defined for users or groups.

    Date Range

    Specify the Start Date and End Date of the Historical Instances.

  4. Click Search. This shows the values of each field on the table. Searching can be by any of these:
    • Report Name

    • Historical Instance

    • Status

    • Date Range

    • Security Group

    • Combinations of the preceding items listed

    • Populate all fields

  5. To reprocess a publication, check the corresponding records from the table and click the Retry/Recover button.
  6. To re-send an email of scheduled reports, check the corresponding records from the table and click the Resend button.

    This table shows the table values:

    Status Shows the publication state of a cached report.

    Security Group

    Role

    Custom Group

    User

    Specifies the user, custom group, role, or the security group of publication.
    Publication Key Shows the Reporting Right as defined on Maintain Rights
    E-mail

    Shows the email type and status.

    E-mail Type:

    1. No Email – Sending of email is not configured for the scheduled report.

    2. Report Attached – This email includes a .pdf file of the report in the email.

    3. URL – The email includes a link to the report. When users receive the e-mail and clicks the link, they will get the report directly from the Reporting Services repository via the method (View or Creation Time) that was specified in the report's bursting options.

    4. Text Only – The email does not contain any attachment and does not contain a URL link to the report. It is an email that was set up by the user for the Report Schedule.

    Email Status:

    1. Not Applicable – Sending of email is not configured for the scheduled report.

    2. Sent – Email is sent to the SMTP server.

    3. Error – The process encountered an error while sending to the SMTP server.

    Start Date and End Date Defines the duration of the processed cached report.
    Network Drive Status

    Network drive distribution is audited in the report schedule queue.

    1. Not Applicable – Sending of e-mail is not configured for the scheduled report.

    2. Sent – Report is sent in network drive location.

    3. Error – The process has encountered an error in copying the file in the network drive location.

    Network Drive Destination

    The path where the instance/publication file is copied.

    Note: If resending fails, publication file might be missing, retry/recover the specific file and try resend.
