Editing the attributes of a content link
- Open the content module that contains the content link.
- Click the plus sign to the right of the link title and select Edit. The Content Link Edit screen is displayed.

Specify this information:
- Title
- Specify the title or name of the link.
- Description
- Specify a description of the content link. This description is displayed as a flyover when the user mouses over the link.
- URL
- This value is also displayed in the Content tab.
Specify the URL that the link will run.
Click Search to search for a URL.
- Action
- This value is also displayed in the Content tab.
Specify how the content is displayed in the browser. The action that you specify determines the symbol that is displayed before the content link. Consider these options:
- Select none to have no action performed when the link is clicked. When you specify this option, no new window launches and the active browser window is not refreshed.
- Select expand to expanded the content in the content module area of the dashboard. When you specify expand, no new window launches and the active browser window is not refreshed.
- Select onClick to display the content as specified in the URL/Script field.
- Select open in new window to have the content display in a new browser window.
- Select replace to have the content display in the existing browser window.
- Select slide to have the content display in a new window that slides down from the browser's toolbar.
- Expanded
- This value is also displayed in the Content tab.
Select Expanded to have the item expanded by default when opened.
- Content Owner
- This value is also displayed in the Content tab.
Specify the content link's owner. For example, specify a last name or employee ID.
- Row Number
- This value is also displayed in the Layouts tab.
Specify the order in which the content link is displayed in the content module. The lowest number is always displayed first.
- Height
- This value is also displayed in the Layouts tab.
Specify the height in pixels for the content link. If you do not specify a height, Framework Services scales the height.
- Text or HTML
- Framework Services accepts standard HTML tags. For
example:
<H3>Emergency Number</H3> Medical emergency? Dial <b>9911</b>

tags are not required - Window Options
- Specify the name of the window in which you want the
content link to display. When you specify a window option, Framework Services
launches the URL in the window that you specify in this field.
Consider these:
- You must begin this statement with
target=window name
. For example,target=new
. - Other options must be separated by commas. For
example:
target=searchwin,width=800, height=600,resizable=no, scrollbar=no

Select a function to insert in the URL on the left.
- Left Icon
- Click Select to display available icons to place on the left of the link. Optionally, specify the path to the icon. The icon files are GIFs and must be 12 pixels by 12 pixels.
- Left Icon Link
- Optionally, specify if the left icon links to a URL.
- Left Icon Flyover

Optionally, you can specify if a flyover is displayed on the left icon.
- Right Icon
- Click Select to display available icons to place on the right of the link. Optionally, specify the path to the icon. The icon files are GIFs.
- Right Icon Link
- Optionally, specify if you want the right icon to link to a URL.
- Right Icon Flyover
- Optionally, specify if a flyover is displayed on the right icon.
- Show Timestamp
- Select the timestamp format
- Update Timestamp
- Select to manually update the timestamp. The timestamp is updated on save.
- Current Timestamp
- This read only field shows the timestamp format. Timestamp does not update in the open Edit form.
- Viewing
- Select Viewing All to allow all users to view the content item linked to. Select Edit viewers to allow only specific users to view this content item. In the Users and Roles window, select the users or roles as required and add them to the selected list.
- Designing
- Select Designing All to allow all
of the users that you specified in the Viewing option to modify this content link.

this content link. In the Users and Roles window, select the
users or roles as required. and add them to the selected list.Note: You can add a user as a designer only if you have first added that user as a viewer.
- ID
- This field shows the ID that Framework Services assigned to the module.
- Parent
- The ID of the parent of the module.
- Owner
- This field shows the name of the owner of the dashboard.
- Created
- This field shows the date the dashboard was created.
- Last Modified
- This field shows the last modification date.
