Viewing details about a workunit
When you click a workunit in Inbasket, you open a dialog box of information about the workunit, including action buttons and several tabs containing detailed information.
Details tab
The Details tab is displayed if the work item you are viewing has been defined to contain application-specific detail data. This data is called a DisplayExec and, if it exists, has been configured by your system administrator.
History tab
The History tab is displayed in your Inbasket if an action is part of a flow that requires at least two actions from users. The tab's purpose is to keep all participants who have been assigned a work item informed of actions.
For in-progress actions, the history tab displays information about any action that occurred in the flow before the one you are about to take:
- Proceeding Logic: Description of what the action requires. For example, if you are part of a team of three who can approve requisitions and only one participant's approval is required, the proceeding logic might be "Any one recipient takes action."
- Timeout setting, that is, how much time you and everyone who has been assigned this work item has to take action before a "no response" message is generated
- Names of users who performed an action on the workunit and details about their actions
- Pending action for a user (that is, the next action for a particular user, if any)
- You can also show the names of all users who are associated with a workunit, even if they have not yet performed a task. Enable the Show all Participants setting (disabled by default) to see this information.
Messages tab
The Messages tab contains information that helps you make a decision about how to respond to a work item in your Inbasket. These messages are generated by the programs within which the flow is associated. The Messages tab can also be blank.
You can also use the Messages tab to send a message to everyone who has been assigned the work item. To do this, click
and then specify a subject and message text in the appropriate parts of the dialog box. The subject line is limited to ten characters. Click to send the message or if you decide not to send it.Related Links tab
The Related Links tab is for accessing URLs to web pages and Lawson forms.
The tab is always available but contains content only if it has been configured.
If a URL or form appears on the tab, double-click to view it.
You can also use the Related Links tab to send a URL (not a form) to everyone who has been assigned a work item. You might do this, for example, if you want other users to take note of supporting information (documents, articles, and so on) that is available on a web site.
To add a URL, click
. You will be prompted to supply a name for the URL and the URL path.
