Feature updates for Lawson applications

General enhancements

Description
These enhancements are available for Lawson applications:
  • New central cache and Role/User caching options which offers potential to preserve memory consumption.
  • Converted help from using Companion to Infocenter. This change requires a new profile application group for S3. Client in the Profile Editor, which includes the Infocenter URL and optional parameter language.
  • New Role settings added to control access to items in the Lawson Other branch of the Navigator.
  • The Personalization Manager now allows Drill Select personalizations to be copied to another user.
  • Some settings have been removed from the Settings Editor because they are always overridden by values from the S3 Role: Allow bookmarks, Allow personalization, Allow user script, and Compact transaction. It is now possible to set the Role list value to zero. Finally, to use application wide values for users of the default (or any other) role, it would be necessary to use the Role Manager to specify the default values and set them to zero.
  • A new user setting on the Export tab allows users to have conditional style hyperlinks rendered as a link in Excel and Outlook messages when exporting lists either from List Driven forms or the Info Browser.
  • A new context menu item on the lists in List Driven forms, Drill and Select, and the Info Browser provides the ability to copy one or more selected lines as comma delimited text to the Windows clipboard.
  • A new role base setting, Disable Table Cache, is now provided to eliminate lookups of table names when not needed. If Infor Ming.le is configured, table names are required.

Support for passive SAML authentication

Description

Passive authentication requires users to authenticate through web browser or web browser control. Instead of sending credentials to the Smart Office server or the application servers, the user is redirected to an Identity Provider where the actual authentication is performed.

Passive authentication is only supported in Lawson products.

For passive authentication to work in Smart Office, these prerequisites must be fulfilled:
  • LCM 10.x, minimum 10.1.3.x, must be used for installing Grid, SAML Session Provider, and Smart Office.
  • Infor Smart Office server must be installed in Grid 11.1.13.0.33 or later.
  • The Grid where Smart Office server is installed must be configured with SAML Session Provider 1.13.6 or later.
  • The first Identity Provider must be ADFS and the version must be 2.0, 2.1, or 3.0.
Note: Passive authentication cannot be configured using DSSO Session Provider.
