Feature updates for all installations
Settings can now be assigned to users and roles in Settings Editor
Description |
Settings Editor has been updated so that individual settings can be assigned to users and roles (groups of users). The Settings Editor has been updated to include the ability to create rules, which are used to specify users who are allowed or not allowed to use specific features. You can also lock a setting by user or by role so that users cannot change the setting that has been made. Users and roles available for selection in Settings Editor are delivered by the Grid session provider you installed for Lawson Smart Office. |
Impact |
The S3 Role Manager creating roles for S3 applications options still exists and is not affected. S3 customers can use Settings Editor to apply settings to Lawson Smart Office (client) S3 settings. S3 customers who are running Lawson System Foundation and Landmark in a federated system cannot assign settings to roles; they can assign settings to individual users. |

A new tool, Import/Export Manager, is available in Lawson Smart Office Administration Tools to export and import the files. You can also import and export links to files using the tool. You might want to export or import these files for these
situations:
Files are exported to .zip format to a location you specify and can be extracted for viewing in the new location. |

User display name can now be retrieved from the session provider
Description |
The previous methods for retrieving user name are still available but it is also possible to configure a Grid property to locate the display name. In previous versions of Lawson Smart Office, the information could be retrieved from Active Directory but the attributes to be read had to be set in the Mango Core settings file in Settings Editor. The user could also set their own display name if the administrator had enabled the ability to do so. Lawson Smart Office user display name can now be retrieved directly from the session manager. |
