Installation changes
New installer program for client installation in a virtualized desktop environment
Description |
Lawson Smart Office uses Microsoft Click Once technology to deploy the client software on end-users computers. To help customers that want to use Lawson Smart Office in a
virtualized desktop environment such as Citrix, Lawson Smart Office ships with an
alternative installation technology. The .msi installation package is the
recommended way to deploy Lawson Smart Office in a virtualized environment.
Lawson has not tested or created guidelines for network sizing or hardware signing when Lawson Smart Office is accessed in a virtualized environment. If Lawson suspects an issue is related to a third party product not directly supported by Lawson, the customer may be requested to work directly with the third-party vendor to resolve their issue, or modify their Lawson environment in efforts to target the root cause. For more information on virtualized desktops, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_virtualization. |
Impact |
If you have Lawson Smart Office running in a virtualized desktop environment, use the framework installation option to install the client. For individual user desktop installations, you will continue to use the ClickOnce deployment. |
