Administration changes

New user role allows administrators to restrict access to Lawson Smart Office

Description

All Lawson Smart Office users must belong to the Grid application role Users. Grid application roles are managed in the Grid Configuration Manager (Applications > LSO > Application Role Mappings).

Impact

The Lawson Smart Office install program will automatically add the grid role authenticated to the Users role. Alll authenticated users can use Lawson Smart Office.

A user who does not have the correct role assignment will see a message indicating that they are not authorized to start the application.

If you are upgrading from Lawson Smart Office 9.1.3.x to 10.0.0, the "authenticated" group will also be added to the Users role.

S3 Role Manager changes

Description
User roles can have the ability to (or restricted from) making these changes in the Settings:
  • Change or disable the data area (Advanced tab). This setting, which was removed in an earlier release, has been restored in release 10.0.
  • Export all data for the current query (Export tab). This option, which is available on the Export tab, brings all data for a query, not lists and is time-consuming. You can disable this option from appearing on users’s Export tabs. If the option is disabled, only the options Export list and Export selected are available for users to select.

Other new settings, which are not controlled through a role, are also available to users in Version 10. See “User settings updates” in this document for details.

New trusted servers setting in Mango Core

Description

You can now add a list of trust web services servers to the Mango Core settings. This feature is used by mashup data services.

Impact

If a server is in the trusted servers list, the mashup user is not presented with a dialog asking to trust the server. If a mashup utilizes data services and the data service requires the current credentials, the user is challenged to indicate if the server can be trusted with the credentials.
