Updating system data format

Note: The System Data Format is shared among all templates within that program view and sorting order. It is important that this format matches the data in the M3 table, and if the System Data Format is incorrect, it can result in these issues:
  • An entire column is previewed and exported as ???
  • A number column is formatted as date or a date column is formatted as number
  • A number column is formatted as text or a text column is formatted as number
  • The exported data doesn’t match the data in the M3 table
  • The dates within a date column are reversed so that the year is shown as the date

Perform these steps to update the System Data Format for a column:

  1. When you edit the template, click the Define System Data Format link.

This will open a new dialog where you can specify the formats. You can also follow the link which is presented in the warning dialog when you edit the Data format in the template.

  2. Click the header for the column that you want to edit. Change the formats so that they match with the real format in the M3 table.
For example, if the column contains numbers, ensure that the data format is number and that the group and decimal separators are correctly set up. The number 1 459,50 has the group separator " " (space) and a decimal separator "," (comma). The number 1,459.50 has the group separator "," and the decimal separator ".".
  3. Click Save.
