Making text or numeric comparisons

It is also possible to make comparisons with dates. See Making date comparisons.

  2. For M3: Click Tools > Personalize > Create Conditional Styles.

  4. If the field shown by default is not the one you want to work with, select Target Field.
  5. If you are only changing formatting of the field (not making a comparison), click Next to move to the formatting options.
  6. If you are making a comparison against a value or another field, select the type of comparison you want to make (Numeric or Text).
  7. If you are making a comparison, configure the options in the table that follows and click Next when you are finished.

If you are comparing the Target field to another field, select Field here and then in the drop-down to the right, select the field that will be compared.

If you are comparing the Target field to a value, select Specific Value here and then type the value in the text box to the right.

    Trim blank spaces

  8. Click Next when you are ready to format the display characteristics for the field.
