Creating Infor Smart Office hyperlinks

This topic describes how to create a hyperlink, a simple personalization (customization) that is available from a Infor M3 program.

A hyperlink could be used in a case where you usually use a related program from the Related menu. Instead of selecting an item from the menu and then pressing Ctrl+[the option], you can use a hyperlink. Hyperlinks function like shortcuts or macros in the sense that they save you keystrokes in moving through a program.

Perform these steps to create an Infor Smart Office hyperlink

  1. From the form for which you want to create a hyperlink, click Tools > Personalization > Create Hyperlinks.
  2. From the Field drop-down menu, select the database field that you want the related option to link to.
  3. From the Related option drop-down menu, select the action that you want to occur when the hyperlink is run.

    This is the same list that appears when you select the Related menu option from within a program.

  4. Click Add to create the new hyperlink.
  5. Click Save when you are finished creating hyperlinks.
    Note: If you created the hyperlink in a program other than the originating program, you will need to close the screen you are currently working with to activate the new hyperlink.
