Setting What it means Field Shows the browse field name from the reference file. The available values are in Browse Definition (MNS185). Variant A variant on the browse field from Browse Definition (MNS185). (Optional) User User-specific browse defined in MNS185. (Optional) Function The name of the M3 program that you want to open. Locating field names:
Some of the fields in the Info Browser require you to specify the name of a field or other information from the function.
With the function open, locate the field and then move into it (click on it or move focus) and then click F1. Field names display in the help dialog box.
Field name The name of the field in the function that should be populated with the value from the widget.
For example, in CRS610, the customer number field is W1CUNO. In this case, we would use "W1CUNO" for Field Name.
Key column The column in the widget that contains the value that should be passed to M3. For example, if you want field "W1CUNO" (the customer number in CRS610) to be the key column in the widget, type "1" here. Inquiry type field name Specify the field name for the inquiry type.
If the function you browse for uses inquiry by default, you can define the inquiry type you want to use when you open the function and double-click the widget. Use F1 to view the available inquiry types.
Locating sorting and views field names:
Most M3 functions have at least one sorting order and many also have at least one view. A sorting order name and view (if they exist) must be configured for your Info Browser widget.
(If you are working with a function that does not have either a sorting order or a view, the relevant fields can be left blank when configuring the widget.)
To determine if a field has a sorting and/or viewing order, open the function. The sorting order and view fields appear on the form. For example, Customer.Open has only a sorting order.
In this case, you only need to configure the sorting order field name; you can leave View field name blank.
To determine the field name for a sorting order or view, place focus on the sorting order or view and then click F1 to open field help. The name of the field appears in the bottom-right of the help dialog box. For example, for Customer, Open, if you are using the "1-Customer" sorting order, the field name is "WWQTTP."
Sorting order field name The name of the sorting order field in the function (if one exists). Sorting order The value of the sorting order to be displayed in the widget.
If there is only one sorting order, type one "1," here. If there are multiple sorting orders, use the value that is associated with the sorting order. For Customer,Open has multiple sorting orders: "1-Customer," "2-Search key" and so on. In this example, if you are using "Customer," type "1."
View field name The name of the view field in the function (if one exists). View The value of the view to be displayed in the widget.
If there is only one views, type one "1," here. If there are multiple view, use the value that is associated with the view.
