Infor Smart Office settings

This section describes settings that control general operation of Infor Smart Office.

General tab

The general tab provides some options for control of Infor Smart Office as a whole.

Option Description
Select language for Infor Smart Office

From the dropdown list, select the language that you will use to view Infor Smart Office.

If only one language is available or if other languages are grayed-out in your view, it means that your administrator has removed your ability to change the language.

Zoom Canvas

This setting determines what percent, if any, text and images on forms will zoom when they open on your canvas.

Slide the ruler to the right to zoom in, or make text and images larger. Slide the ruler to the left to zoom out, or make text and images smaller.

Show my applications from last time If this setting is selected, it means that any applications you left open in your previous session will automatically open when you launch Infor Smart Office the next time. If this option is not selected, Infor Smart Office will not automatically re-open any items you left open when you ended the previous session.
Log level

Five levels of logging are available with Infor Smart Office. These are:

  • Debug

  • Information

  • Warning

  • Error

  • Services Error

Select one level and all levels under that level will also be selected.

By default, Information is selected. This means that everything tagged as Information, Warning, Error, and Services Error will be logged. Only Debug will not automatically be logged.

It is a good idea to turn on Debug logging only when trying to troubleshoot a problem. Typically, you will not do so unless your system administrator has asked you to. Debug information causes log files to grow very large and could have a negative effect on system performance.

Reset size and zoom level settings to default for all application windows Click the Reset to Default button to return all your settings to the delivered default.

System Profile tab

This tab shows the profile that Infor Smart Office uses and other information.

Typically, users will not make changes to the configurable settings on this tab unless requested to do so by your system administrator.

Option Description
Select system profile If any profiles in addition to the one you are currently running under is available, it will be listed on the drop-down.
Enable selection of system profile at logon If this option is selected, you will be prompted to select a profile when you log into Infor Smart Office. Typically, this feature would be enabled only for system administrators or power users who work with multiple Infor Smart Office installations.

Personal tab

If your administrator has allowed it, you can change the Display Name, that is, the name that is displayed on the top left of the canvas and in the Communicator widget. Type the name you want to display in the Display name field.

You would also use this tab to restore your settings to defaults. (If you have questions about this, talk to your system administrator.)

Hidden Dialogs tab

You can disable some confirmation dialog boxes from appearing. For example, if you disable the log off confirmation dialog box, the system will log you off immediately without prompting to confirm.

Appearance tab

You can use this tab to change the appearance of the Canvas.

To set the theme color of the Canvas, select from the available colors. Under the contrast options, you can choose between Light grey window background and High Contrast Mode.

  • Light grey window background uses a grey background color for windows instead of the default white.

  • High Contrast Mode reduces the number of colors and shades in program windows. Choosing this will enhance the Infor Smart Office experience in situations where color representation is limited.

You can select from six different background styles for the wallpaper. If you want to add color to the wallpaper, select from the available colors and select Theme Colored Wallpapers. To control the amount of color added to the wallpaper, select from the Color Saturation list.

Note: Color Saturation will only be enabled if Theme Colored Wallpapers is selected.

Click Save to apply the changes and restart Smart Office if prompted.

Collaboration tab

You can use the settings in this tab to control how to be notified for different collaboration events in Smart Office:

  • Alert me when a message is received

  • Play a sound when a message is received

  • Save message history (This will store the conversation with user on the PC.)

  • Alert me when a favorite contact is online
