Advanced Search

Advanced searching is a way for Infor Smart Office customers who use Enterprise Search to perform complex searches simply and quickly.

For example, you can run a text search across a large data set but specify only the columns that are of interest to you. This prevents the search from retrieving irrelevant information.

You set up the columns that you want to include in an advanced search using the program CMS030.

Note: Information about using CMS030 is not in this document. Your Infor Smart Office system administrator can help you locate the Net change report that contains any information you might need.

To perform an advanced search, press Ctrl + F anywhere on an Infor M3 program screen. An input box for typing the text in the appropriate column appears. When the search runs, it will locate only information in the specified column(s).

The setup that you perform in CMS030 determines the columns that are available in the advanced search input box.

You can specify keywords in any of the fields when using advanced search.

  • Contains the exact phrase
  • Contains all of these words
  • Contains any of these words
  • Does not contain

Beside the text field, a text is shown containing a string that represents what the text in the textbox would look like in a query.

A summary of the query is shown at the bottom of the textboxes. You can point the cursor at a specific search term and edit it in its designated text field.
