Configuring the News Reader widget on your canvas

  1. From the Show menu, select Widget Library and then select News Reader.
  2. Position the News reader anywhere on the canvas.
  3. To configure the News Reader, perform these steps:
    • Right-click News Reader title bar to open the settings dialog box.
    • News feed URL: This is the URL to the RSS site you want to display in the News Reader widget.
    • Refresh time: Select the time frame, in minutes, for refreshing the feed. Options are 1, 5, 10 (default), 60, Do not refresh.
    • Use internal browser: Selecting this option means that Details about an individual news items will open in a window in the Infor Smart Office canvas so that it can be controlled by Infor Smart Office. If you leave this option unchecked, clicking on Details for a news item will navigate you away from Infor Smart Office and open the news item in an external browser.
  4. When you are finished configuring the News Reader, click Save.
