Changing CSV Work File Attributes
This topic describes how to change properties for CSV work files for multi-step jobs.
- From a list of jobs, select the job for which you want to change CVS attributes for the work file, click Next > CSV Attributes.
- Select the step for which you want to change CSV attributes and then click Change.

Make changes to these attributes as needed.
CSV attribute What it means External name Override the name of the work file with your own name. Usage Set options for how the CSV file will be used by the recipient, that is, the application that will be using the CSV file. For example, if the CSV file will only be read by the receiving application, select Input.
Input: Read only
Output: Write only
Input/Output: Read and write
Header Set options for the CSV file header. These are the available options:
Has Header: If this option is selected, a file header containing field names will be included in the CSV file.
Translate Header: If this option is selected, headers will be translated per your Locale setting.
Line Terminator Set options for how line terminations will be handled in the file. These are the available options:
New Line: Terminate lines in the file with a new line
Carriage return: Terminate lines in the file with a carriage return
Both: Terminate lines in the file with both a new line and a carriage return
Has File Terminator: A file terminator is included in the CSV file
Date Format The date format to use in date fields included in the file. These are the available options:
MMDDYY: Month, day, year
MMDDCCYY: Month, day, century, year
DDMMCCYY: Day, month, century, year
CCYYMMDD: Century, year, month, day
DDMMYY: Day, month, year
Separators You can specify the separator to be used with various types of data. In some cases, defaults are provided. You can override defaults with any character. Field: Character to separate fields in the file for the following types of data. These are the available options::
Comma
Tab
Space
None
User Defined: If you select this option, the User Defined field becomes active. Enter the character to be used as a field separator in the User Defined field.
Date: Character to separate month, day, and year. Time: Character to separate hours and minutes. Decimal: Character to represent decimal places. Thousands: Character to separate thousands from hundreds, millions from thousands, and so on. Work File Information Click to see a summary of information about the job, including the name of the work file.
