Working with recurring jobs in Infor Smart Office

You can use the Recurring Job Definition to configure jobs to run on a recurring basis.

Perform these steps to configure an existing job to run on a recurring basis:

  1. Open Recurring Job Definition.

From the Show menu, select Widget Library > Navigator.

From Navigator, select Lawson - Staff Source Serve > Lawson Jobs & Reports > Lawson Recurring Job Definition.

  2. To create a new recurring job, click Add on the Actions menu and then configure properties in the table.

To change the options for an existing recurring job, right-click the job in the list and then configure the appropriate options in the table.

    Option What it does
Job Owner Current owner of the job. Initially, this is the person who created the job.
Job Name Name of the job.
Queue Job queue the job is running on. Leave blank to select the default queue or select a queue that you have access to from the list.

    Frequency

Specify how often the report should run:
    Half Hour: Every half hour
    Hourly: Every hour
Daily: Every day at the specified time
Weekly: Every week on the specified day of the week and at the specified time
Monthly: Every month on the specified date and at the specified time
Annually: Every year on the specified date and at the specified time
Start Date Click the calendar icon to select a start date for the job.
Stop Date Click the calendar icon to select the date when the job should stop running.
Run Time Specify the time that you want the job to run.
    Grace Time

You can configure a period during which the job must run, if it cannot run at the exact time you specified. Enter the time in hours. 1 is the default. For example, if you configure a run time of 12:00 AM and then configure a grace time of one hour, the system has until 1:00 AM to run the job before it is logged as failed.

Specify 99 if you want the system to continue attempting to run the job.

    If Late

This field works in conjunction with the Grace Time. Use it to tell the system the action to take if the job fails to log after the grace time expires.

Select the action you want the system to take if the job does not run at the specified time. These options are available:

Hold: The job will be sent to the job queue but no action will be taken. You can choose to run the job manually.

Next: The system skips attempting to run the job for the current scheduled run and calculates, based on the Grace Time, the next time the job should run. The job appears on the Waiting tab of Job Scheduler with a status of "Recurring Job Skipped." The system attempts to run it at the next scheduled time.

Next Run Date Column generated by the system that shows when the next time the job is set to run.
Last Run Date Column generated by the system that shows when the job most recently ran.
  3. Perform any of the functions available from the Actions menu.

The table shows the menu items available from the Actions menu within the Recurring Jobs Definition program.
