Updating a global variable

You can always update variables that you create yourself. In some cases, you can update a global variable (created by your administrator). You might do this, for example, if you frequently searched for data that was slightly different from that located by an existing variable.

To do this you would create a new variable with the same name as the global variable. Your version of the variable would take precedence when you use it. This is only possible if the administrator has allowed the variable to be updated by a user. If the variable cannot be changed, you will not be allowed to save it with a new name.
