Infor Smart Office canvas
This section describes the major features of the Infor Smart Office canvas.

| Mini-mode |
Mini-mode is the name for a minimized image of the Infor Smart Office canvas. The Infor Smart Office task bar is still available in mini-mode. If you are working in a system that is not part of Infor Smart Office, you can use the mini-mode to view the content delivered through Infor Smart Office.You can also move the application windows between screens and snap it using the Microsoft Windows Aero-Snap feature. To launch mini-mode, double-click the Infor Smart Office title bar or click the Restore or Maximize button on the canvas. To restore the canvas to full size, double-click the minimized canvas title bar or click the window Restore or Maximize button. |
| Start and search box | The fastest way to locate forms is by specifying the form name or number into the search box |
| Show Canvas | If you are currently working with a form or multiple forms, you can click this icon to take you back to the canvas. |
| Show menu | This is a menu of productivity tools for administrators and end users. It also includes the Widget Library. |
| Help menu (? button) | This is a menu of help tools that includes Tutorial Videos (video library), Infor Documentation, and General Hotkey Help. |
| Startpads | These are application managers that you can create to organize, group, and launch applications from your desktop. The Startpad Manager is available from the Navigator. |
| Taskbar | Located at the top of the canvas, under the toolbar, where thumbnail versions of open forms are displayed |
| Toolbar | Located on the top of the canvas from which you can launch menus and icons |
| Toolbox | Location that you can attach to a form that, depending on your configuration, contains associated print files and any shortcuts you choose to store |
Display Name
Your user name is displayed on the top left corner of the canvas.
By default, this is the name that is stored in your company's data directory for you.
If your administrator enabled the ability for you to modify your display name, you can do so in Infor Smart Office settings. From the menu that is displayed on the canvas toolbar, click . Modify the Display Name field to reflect the name you prefer.
Lock Screen
The new lock screen is triggered in two ways: through Manual lock using the new item in the Log Off button, and by Automatic lock which is caused by idle timeouts. The lock screen covers the entire canvas which must be unlocked using your password.
The Smart Office framework prevents any content or dialogs from being displayed when the lock screen is active. Applications running in Smart Office that is not lock screen aware are still displayed when lock screen is active.
