Changing delivered default values (without conditions)

  1. Open the form for which you want to change default values.
  2. Click Tools > Personalization > Default Values > Unconditional.
  3. If you are changing defaults for a field for the first time, click New.
  4. Click New to create a new default value or Edit to update an existing default.
  5. Select the field for which you want to set a default value.
  6. Make a selection for value type. If you select Literal, specify a Default value.)
    Value type Meaning
    Literal Text. Specify the text string that you want to appear in the field.
    Field Use this option if you want the field data of the field you are configuring to match whatever is in another field. Select the field.
    Key Use this option if you want the field data of the field you are configuring to match whatever is in a particular key field. Select the key field.
    User attribute Use this option if you want a user attribute from a user's LDAP record to populate the field. Select the attribute.
    Date Populate the field with the current date.
    Time Populate the field with the current date.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Specify a description for the default value.
  9. Review the new default. If you want to make a change, click Previous to return to the Default Values dialog box.
  10. Click Finish.
