Jobs and reports terminology
Infor Lawson uses these terms in batch jobs and reports.

Batch job: a specific unit of work that is performed in background. Batch jobs wait in a job queue for processing when the system has the available resources.
These are the most common types of batch jobs:

Batch updates: Data that is stored in the database is updated in background

Reports: Data is retrieved from the database in background

Job parameters: Job parameters define the information you want in the report of the date you want processed in a batch update. For example, you might want a report to include a specific company's data or the date/time that a batch job runs.

Job queue: A list of batch jobs waiting for processing or currently processing. When you submit a job for processing, you indicate the queue it should be processed on. As a user, you have been assigned at least one queue for your jobs.
