Editing tab order

By default, the order for moving through the screen using the Tab key is the order in which fields appear on the screen. You can change the order.

  1. Open the form for which you want to change tab order.
  2. Click Tools > Personalize/Personalization > /Edit Tab Order.
  3. Specify a unique number, 1-99, for each field that you want to be included in your new tabbing sequence where 1 is the field that will be in focus when the form is opened, 2 is the first field to be tabbed into, 3 is the second field to be tabbed into, and so on.

    If a field already has a number indicating that a default value exists (M3 only), you can change the default value by typing over.

    Fields not assigned a tab sequence will receive focus after all assigned fields in the order laid out on the form.

  4. If your form has multiple tabs (in this case, tab means a section of a form that is divided into multiple sections), you must renumber tab order for each form tab.
  5. If you want to return the tabs to the delivered order, click Use Default.
  6. Click Save.
