Defining conditions for setting default values

  1. Open the form for which you want to change default values.
  2. Click Tools > Personalization > Default Values > Conditional.
  3. Click New to add a new condition.
  4. In Target field, select the field you want to be conditionally required; in Target field state, select Required. Click Next.
Note: This is also where you could set a field as hidden or required.
  5. Specify the condition.

Only options that make sense for the type of personalization you are making are available. For example, if you are making a field required, options for specifying text colors are not available.

    See Creating conditional styles.

  6. When you are finished defining your condition, you will be on the Finalize and Save Conditional Field dialog box.

You can assign a name to your condition and add some textual comments to describe its purpose.

  7. If you are ready for this personalization to be used, ensure that Activate is selected.
  8. Click Finish to return to the Create Conditional styles initial dialog box.
