Creating shortcuts for Lawson Self-Service Applications

Using the Infor Smart Office Shortcut widget, you can create a shortcut to any location or resource available to you. This can include web pages and Lawson forms.

Some Lawson web-based applications have special requirements for shortcuts to make use of Lawson Single Sign-on (SSO), the Lawson program that ensures that users must log into the system only one time.

These are some examples of applications that must have a prefix to the shortcut URL:

  • Customer Self-Service
  • Employee Self-Service
  • Manager Self-Service
  • Procurement Card Self-Service
  • Requisition Center
  • Smart Reconciliation
  • Vendor Self-Service

When you create a shortcut to one of these applications, you must include a prefix at the beginning of the URL.

This an example of a URL to a self-service application:

net://auth/?http://Server1.ABCCompany.com:8080/AppName/html/index.htm

net://auth/? is the prefix added.

Server1.ABCCompany.com:8080 is the fully-qualified name of the server including the web port number (8080), through which the application will be accessed

  1. From the Show menu, select Widget Library > Shortcut.
  2. Specify a name for the link, for example, Requisition Center.
  3. Specify the URL in the Target or URL field.

    For example, net://auth/?http://YourServer.YourCompany.com:port#/app_name/html/index.htm

    net://auth/? is the prefix added.

YourServer.YourCompany.com:port# is the fully-qualified name of the server including the web port number, through which you access the application.

app_name/html/index.htm is the part of the URL that points to the application you want to connect to from this shortcut.

Note: If you are an end-user and do not know the server name, the URL to the application, or the application name, contact your system administrator.
  4. Click Save.
