Importing files

In most cases, when the zip file is imported, the content of the files will be merged with what is already on the server.

For example, if a setting file from the source system has settings A and B and the server on the target system has B and C, the merged system (after import) will have A, B and C. If the common setting (B) is different on each system, the data on the target system will be updated.

Unknown settings are ignored.(A setting might be unknown if, for example, the zip file included a setting from a newer or older version of Infor Smart Office.)

Predefined widgets and links are imported in the same way.

There is one case when overwriting rather than merging occurs. If the Overwrite roles values and roles checkbox is selected, all existing role data on the target server is removed and replaced with data from the .zip file. Overwriting is done on a per-settings-file basis.

  1. From Navigator, select Functions > Administration Tools > Import/Export Manager.
  2. Populate these files as needed:
    • File: Click to locate the .zip file that contains the data you want to import.
    • Import Settings files: These are the settings maintained in Settings Editor.
    • Overwrite role values and roles: If selected, existing role data on the target system will be deleted and overwritten by role data included in the zip file.
    • Import predefined widgets: Predefined widget data in the zip file will be merged with predefined widget data on the target system.
    • Import Links: Links in the zip file will be merged with links data on the target system.
  3. Click Import.
