Assigning settings to users and roles through Settings Editor

You can make special settings assignments in Settings Editor based on user roles. These special assignments are called rules.

For example, if you want only power users to be able to make personalizations, you can disable the setting by default and then enable it only for the specific power users. Or, if your site has many power users who will make personalizations, you can enable the setting for a group of users through their role (which are delivered through the session provider and created and maintained in the user repository that you use).

This topic describes how to change a default setting. It also describes how to change a setting for some users through individual or role (group) assignment.

Note: If you use the DSSO session provider in a Lawson System Foundation and Landmark federated system, you cannot assign rules to roles. However, you can assign rules to individual users.
