Edit List in Excel users

User access to the Edit List in Excel feature is controlled in Resource Management.

In general, security to data is applied through Lawson Security. If the user is in List Driven navigation mode using Lawson Enterprise Applications and has security access to a particular form, table, field, or drill, the data can be extracted to Excel and edited in an Excel worksheet.

You can secure access to the Edit List in Excel feature using Lawson Security using the "Addins" attribute. This is the same attribute that controls access to the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office.

When a user logs in to Infor Smart Office, the Single Sign-on service checks the attribute "Addins" in the user’s entry in the Resource Management repository. The following table shows the options for the Addins attribute and the resulting access to the Edit List in Excel feature.

Addins attribute value in Resource Management Result
ALLOW The user can access all Edit List in Excel features.
DENY The user cannot access the tool. For all new users, the default is DENY.
AAAAD The user can add and change records, but is blocked from deleting records.
AADAD The user can change records only. No records can be added.
DDxxx The user does not have access to any Edit in Excel functionality. Same as the ADDINS attribute = DENY.
ADxxx The user can export data to Excel, but is blocked from adding, changing, and deleting records.
AADDD The user can export data to Excel, but is blocked from adding, changing, and deleting records.

Note: The Addins attribute is also used to control access to the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office. If you are a current Lawson customer with existing Portal users for whom the Addins attribute is set to ALLOW or DENY, those users will automatically have the same access to the Edit List in Excel feature in Infor Smart Office. Other attribute settings (which are supported for Lawson Add-ins) are not supported for Infor Smart Office.

If you are upgrading from an earlier release of Lawson Environment, and you had populated the user’s RD30 record with ALLOW or DENY for this attribute, the upgrade process carried over your RD30 settings.
