Settings Editor: general information

  • User Settings can be changed by users in the Infor Smart Office Settings dialog. To prevent the users from changing a value, the administrator can select the Lock Setting for Users check box. If the user has already made a change before the administrator selects the Lock setting for users check box, the user's change will be removed and replaced by the default value set by the administrator.
  • Application Settings can be changed only by an administrator.

Every time Infor Smart Office is started, it will check if the settings files on the server are newer than the settings files on the client. If the settings files were updated recently, they will be downloaded to the client and then merged together with the settings files stored locally. Values set to read-only will overwrite the values at the client and new values will be added.

  1. From Infor Smart Office Navigator, select Functions > Administration Tools > Settings Editor.

    The Settings Editor window is displayed, showing a list of available application settings. The first application in the list will be selected when the Settings Editor is launched.

  2. To modify a setting, select the type of setting you want to edit from the left pane and make changes as needed.
    Note: User settings can be locked/unlocked by selecting the checkbox next to each user setting. When settings are locked, users will not be able to change the locked settings in the application. Select the Lock Settings checkbox to lock/unlock all user settings. By default, all user settings are unlocked in the Settings Editor.
  3. Click Save when you are finished changing settings.
