Deploying startpads

Use this procedure to make a startpad available to the user community. Deployment copies the startpad from your local machine to the Infor Smart Office server.

  1. From the Navigator, expand Startpad. Double-click on the Startpad Manager to launch it.

    A list of your startpads appears in the left pane. Select a startpad to display it.

  2. Click on the pencil icon to enable edit mode.
  3. Click File > Deploy and select a deployment option.
    • Deploy public copies the startpad to the server and makes it available immediately to all users.

    • Deploy draft copies the startpad to the server, but does not automatically assign or change any access rights.

      • If this startpad has been deployed for the first time, users will not be able to see the startpad until you assign access.

      • If this startpad has previously been deployed, the existing access rights will be preserved when you deploy an update using the Deploy draft option.

    If you attempt to deploy a startpad that already exists on the server, a message appears. You can click OK to overwrite the server file, or click Cancel to save a copy of the startpad on your local machine.
