Infor Smart Office User Setup in Resource Management

Users who run Lawson Enterprise Applications in Infor Smart Office must be set up in the Lawson Resource Management application. Infor Smart Office users are set up in exactly the same way as Lawson Portal users.

Note:  If you already have Portal users set up in Lawson Resource Management, the Portal users will automatically have access to Infor Smart Office. For more information, see the Lawson Administration: Resources and Security guide and read the topics on Portal users.

Portal roles that you set up in the Portal Role Manager cannot be used in Infor Smart Office. You will need to use the Infor Smart Office Role Manager to recreate Portal roles.

There are several ways to assign a role to a user. You can use any of the methods described here individually or in combination.

  • Assign a custom role, that is, a role that has been created at your site, to an individual user.

  • Assign a custom default role to all or most users.

  • Retain the Lawson-delivered default role (default.xml) for all or most users.

The sections that follow describe the basic procedures for each method of assigning roles in Infor Smart Office. Some of the procedures described here are typically performed by a Lawson security administrator.
