Creating a new default canvas for all users

Perform these steps to create a new default canvas for all users:

  1. Log into Infor Smart Office.
  2. Make changes to the canvas.

    When creating a new default canvas, you should observe these guidelines.

    • Create the canvas file on a desktop computer with a screen resolution that works for the majority of Infor Smart Office users.

    • Place the Navigator and any other widgets in the magnetic areas of the canvas. You should place at least the Navigator on the default canvas.

  3. To save the new canvas, select Show > Switch Canvas > Save Canvas. Save the canvas file to your local directory.
  4. In Smart Office go to the Navigator > Administration tools > Category File Administration.
  5. In the Category field, select Default canvas files.
  6. Click New to upload a new file, or select an existing file that you would like to replace then click Update. Use the canvas file that you previously saved in your local directory.
  7. If you saved the new canvas with a different name than the default:
    1. Open the Settings Editor.
    2. Select Mango UI.
    3. Under Application Settings, in the Canvas field type the file name of the new canvas.
  8. Restart Infor Smart Office.

    All new users will get the new canvas when they install Infor Smart Office.

    Existing users will get the new canvas only if you have disabled the feature that allows them to save their own canvases. In this case, existing users will get the new canvas when they restart Infor Smart Office.
