Default system profile is missing

If your selected profile is missing or you do not have a selected profile, the default system profile will be used. The default system profile is created when Smart Office is installed. However, if either the selected profile or the default profile is missing, you cannot log into Smart Office. The workaround is provided in this procedure.

You need the MangoAdmin tool to perform the workaround. This tool is launched by running the MangoAdminTool.exe file. To access this file, extract the files from the MangoAdminTool.zip. The zip file is included in the Smart Office install package (version 10.1.0.0 and later), and is found in the AdditionalFiles folder.

For more information about exporting/importing files through the MangoAdmin tool, see Migrating Data from Infor Smart Office 10.0.5.x to 10.1.x in Infor Smart Office Installation Guide.

Note:
  • You must be a Smart Office administrator to run the MangoAdmin tool in the Smart Office server.

  • The Mango Admin tool should only be used during a service window.

  1. Double-click the MangoAdminTool.exe to launch the MangoAdmin tool.
  2. Select a server configuration from the drop-down list.

    If the tool is started for the first time, create a server configuration:

    1. Click the Add button (+).
    2. In the Add Configuration dialog box, specify this information:
      Name

      Provide a name for the new configuration.

      Server Url

      Provide the URL to the Smart Office server.

    3. Click OK to add the configuration.
    Note: The SSL certificate must be installed in the machine where Smart Office server is running.
  3. In the Select Server Configuration dialog box, click OK.
  4. In the Mango Admin Tool window, select the Export tab.
  5. Select only the check box for System files, and specify profile.xml as filter .
    Note: The profile.xml file is stored as a system file.
  6. Click Export. When prompted for login credentials, log in as a Smart Office administrator and click OK.

    A zip file for the System files data will be exported to the server. A file called MangoData.zip, which contains the exported data, will be created in the MangoExport directory. Check the output pane for more information about the export.

  7. Download MangoData.zip and extract the contents to another folder.
  8. Navigate to the CategoryFiles folder. Open the System folder and look for the profile.xml file.
  9. Open the profile.xml file in a text editor (for example, Notepad++). This is an example of a segment at the beginning of the file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <profiles>
       <profile name="PROFILE_NAME" description="Development" >
            <applicationgroup name="Designer" enabled="true" />

  10. Change the PROFILE_NAME to the name of your default profile. Save the changes.
  11. Create a MangoData.zip file containing the updated profile.xml file.
  12. Return to the Mango Admin tool and select the Import tab.
  13. Select only the check box for System files, and specify profile.xml as filter.
  14. Click Upload and select the updated MangoData.zip file. You will see a message where the file is stored in the server.
  15. Click Import and confirm. Check the output pane for errors before proceeding.
  16. Restart the Smart Office server to clear any cache.
  17. Verify that you can log into Smart Office.

    If after restarting Smart Office you still cannot log in, download the profile.xml again. Check the profile name for training spaces or other errors.
