Trace viewer

MForms in Infor Smart Office have the capability to launch the Trace Viewer, which is a logging tool that records processes while the user is interacting with the form. Output from the Trace Viewer can be used in troubleshooting, or saved as a text file to attach to support cases.

The user can select from three types of traces:

• Call Chain, which shows the programs which are used behind the scenes. It displays the chain of functional calls, including the function name and path where the function is retrieved.

• Dyna trace, which displays information about which tables the database reads and what fields are being updated. selected events in the process. The user can decide what events to trace.

• Concept logs, which display pre-defined logging information for some processes.

The system administrator can enable or disable this feature using the Disable Trace setting in the Settings Editor MForms settings. See MForms.
