Infor Smart Office system description

Infor Smart Office consists of two components: a client and a server.

  • The client component resides on each user's desktop machine. It provides the canvas, widgets, and applications.

  • The server component resides on a central server machine. The Infor Smart Office server application is installed in Grid.

Infor Smart Office server

The Infor Smart Office server components consist of a set of web services and configuration files with data that the web services read. For more information about these kinds of data, see About system profiles and Infor Smart Office settings.

When Infor Smart Office is started, it makes a request to load data from the Infor Smart Office server. If the server for Infor Smart Office is unavailable for any reason, Infor Smart Office will not start. If the user is not authenticated, Infor Smart Office will also not start.
