Using the Profile Editor

The Profile Editor is used to create and edit system profiles. The profile information is stored in the GDBC database in the table CategoryFiles. As an administrator you can import and export the file within Smart Office using the Category Files Administration tool or through the standalone Mango Administration tool (found in AdditionalFiles folder of the installation package).

The profile.xml file that exists in the Infor Smart Office installation directory (../../ProfileFiles/profile.xml) should no longer be used for editing system profiles.

A system profile can be viewed in two ways: Basic or Advanced.

  • The Basic view consists of application-specific configuration fields. Each basic profile screen provides the minimum configuration required to create a system profile for the application.
  • The Advanced view shows more detailed configuration information for each application. The fields are always the same as in the profile.xml file. For some applications, the Advanced view has the same options as the Basic view.

For some applications, the Profile Editor needs to access data in LifeCycle Manager. As you populate some profile form fields, you will be asked to provide login credentials for LifeCycle Manager.

You access the Profile Editor using the Administration Tools in Infor Smart Office, available from the Navigator > Functions. To have access to the Administration Tools, you must be set up as an Infor Smart Office administrator.

Note: At the top of each application configuration view is a check box that allows the application to be enabled or disabled. When an application is disabled (the check box is not selected) it will not be available to users.
