Adding external applications to the system profile
Use this feature to enable use of other applications in the Infor Smart Office canvas. For example, you can enable Windows desktop options such as Calculator, Notepad, or Paint. You can set up applications such as Sales Automation (SMS). Applications enabled in this profile will appear under the Other category in the Navigator.
Note: The External Application configuration supports the launch of a single .exe that is launched directly without using a launcher process.
It does not support .exe applications that work as a singleton. Internet Explorer is not recommended to be used as an external application because it uses a launch process. Smart Office will connect to the first launched page, but it will fail to connect to other URLs unless you close the URL that was initially launched.
