Working with Personalizations

Infor Smart Office personalizations are controlled at three levels:

  • Global personalizations are done in the S3Client.xml settings file. A global personalization applies to all users. You can use values in this file to enable or disable features for all users. The EnableCustomization value controls user access to the Bookmarks and Personalization menus. See S3 Client.

  • Role-based personalizations are created in the Role Manager. If a feature is enabled in the S3Client.xml settings file, you can create a role to enable or disable it. The role can then be assigned to groups of users. Within the Role Manager, you can further define access to form-based personalization.

    • Central: If this setting is used for a role, users will not see personalizations options. Global- or role-level personalization will be applied.

    • User: The user has access to the Bookmarks menu and can make personalizations.

    • None: This option means that no changes can be applied to a form. The user sees forms as delivered by Lawson.

  • User personalizations are set by individual users. The personalizations that users can access are determined by global and role-based settings.
