Creating a new startpad

  1. Launch the Startpad Manager.

    From the Navigator, select Startpad > Startpad Manager.

    You can slo launch the Startpad Manager by specifying startpad:// in the Start field and press Enter.

    If there are no startpads currently on your system, a welcome message appears. Click the link to start Edit mode.

  2. Click File > New startpad.
  3. Specify a name and description for the startpad and click OK.
  4. Select an icon to represent the task you will perform using the shortcut.

    For example, if you are linking to a procurement application, you might choose the shopping basket icon.

  5. Optionally, you can also add your own icons to the startpad.
    1. Click Add New Icon.
    2. Select an image from your local machine to be used as icon.

      Consider these restrictions when uploading an icon:

      • Width = 47 pixels; Height = 47 pixels
      • File size limit is from 480 bytes up to 20 kilobytes
    3. Click OK.
  6. Specify the name for the shortcut as you want it to appear on the startpad.
  7. In the Target or URL field, specify the URL or path to the application you want to launch. You can point to a web address, an Infor Smart Office application or task, or a document, or image accessible from your system.
    • If you are creating a link to a URL, you must preface the address with http:// or https://.
    • Select the checkbox if you want a URL to open a separate browser window.
    • Click More options to browse or search for application targets or documents on your system. Select the item and click OK.
  8. In the Group field, select a group for the shortcuts.

    If you haven't yet created a group, click Add, specify a name for the group, and click OK.

  9. Click OK to save the startpad.
  10. To add more shortcuts to the startpad, click the Create New Shortcut icon and repeat these steps.
