Lawson Enterprise Applications features in Infor Smart Office
Infor Smart Office provides several features that are specific to the Lawson Enterprise Applications. For information on how to use these features, see the Infor Smart Office online help. This topic provides an overview of these features, with a focus on how they are administered.
Lawson Enterprise Applications tools for Jobs and Reports
Infor Smart Office delivers a set of tools specifically for Lawson Enterprise Applications users to manage jobs and reports:
- Multi-step Job Wizard Use the wizard to set up complex jobs.
- Job Scheduler Use Job Scheduler to select a time for a job to run.
- Job List After you have submitted a job, it resides on the job list where you can check its status and perform actions.
- Recurring Job Definition You can use the Recurring Job Definition to configure jobs to run on a recurring basis.
- Print Manager After you have submitted a job and it exists in print format, you can view or print the file and perform other actions.
Access to these features must be set up in Lawson Security. They can be controlled using custom roles created in the Infor Smart Office Role Manager. For more information, see Administering Lawson User Roles in Infor Smart Office and Creating Lawson custom roles using Role Manager.
Personalization
Users can personalize Lawson Enterprise Applications forms by changing field labels, changing tab order, hiding fields, and setting fields as required.
Users can also personalize Infor Smart Office. Using the Bookmark feature, users can add forms to the Favorites tab in the Navigator, or create a shortcut to a form from the canvas.
The Infor Smart Office administrator can enable and disable personalization features, and control which users can access them. See Managing SForms personalizations.
Edit List in Excel feature
Infor Smart Office users can use all of the basic features of Microsoft Office integration. They can copy data to Office applications, and export into Excel worksheets. See Using Microsoft Office with Infor Smart Office.
In addition, Lawson Enterprise Applications users can use Excel to extract data from a Lawson form, edit it in an Excel worksheet, and load the changed records back into the Lawson system.
The security administrator can control a user's access to this feature using the Addins attribute in Resource Management. See Infor Smart Office User Setup in Resource Management.
