Making Critical Number General Tab Settings

When defining a critical number, use the General tab  of the Critical Numbers Setup form to specify this information:

  1. In the Source section, specify this information:
    Source Type
    Specify the type of source from the drop-down list. Options include:
    • Stored Procedure
    • IDO
    Source Name
    If the source type is Stored Procedure, specify the name of the stored procedure to be used for the critical number values.

    If the source type is IDO , click the Source Name button to launch the Critical Numbers IDO Source Setup form.

  2. Use the Calculation Definition field to describe in detail how the critical number is calculated. This field is helpful for users who did not create the critical number, and want an explanation of the calculation.
  3. In the Alert section, use these options to define an alert to be used in conjunction with the Critical Number display:
    Use Alert
    When selected, this option specifies that an alert is to be used in conjunction with the critical number.
    Alert Operator
    From the drop-down list, specify what operator is to be used in making the comparison between the alert value and the actual value.
    Alert Value
    Specify a value to compare to the actual value of the property at the time the data is queried.
  4. In the Goal section, use these options to define a goal to be used in conjunction with the Critical Number display.
    Use Goal
    When selected, this option specifies that a goal is to be used in conjunction with the critical number.  
    Goal Operator
    From the drop-down list, specify what operator is to be used in making the comparison between the goal value and the actual value.
    Goal Value
    Specify a value to compare to the actual value of the property
