Export SharePoint content
- Log in to the SharePoint server using the SPInstall user account credentials.
- Create a temporary directory for each portal from which you will export content. For example, if you have three IPF portals, you might create these directories: CustomerPortalTemp, VendorPortalTemp, and ResellerPortalTemp.
- Launch the data export utility by double-clicking the ExportPortalKnowledgeData.exe file.
- Specify this information:

Export From Portal URL

Specify the URL of one portal from which to export content; for example, http://customerportal:8081.

Export Files To

Specify the full path to the temporary directory created in step 2 to which to export content; for example, C:\CustomerPortalTemp.

Knowledge Data

Select the type of content to export.
- Click Export.
- When the export is complete, click OK. An XML file is created with the exported content. See Knowledge content export file layouts and mapping for file names and mapping information.
- Repeat steps 4 through 6 for each of your IPF portals from which to export content.
