Export SharePoint content

  1. Log in to the SharePoint server using the SPInstall user account credentials.
  2. Create a temporary directory to which to export content; for example, ServicePortalTemp.
  3. Launch the export utility by double-clicking the ExportPortalAnnouncementData.exe file.
  4. Specify this information:
    Export From Portal URL
    Specify the URL of the portal from which to export content; for example, http://serviceportal:8081.
    Export Files To
    Specify the full path to the temporary directory created in step 2 to which to export content; for example, C:\ServicePortalTemp.
  5. Click Export.
  6. When the export is complete, click OK. An XML file is created with the exported content. See Announcement content export file layouts and mapping for file names and mapping information.
