- Open the Mass Journal Posting utility.
- Specify this information:

Select this check box to compress the journal(s) before posting the transactions.
-

Select one of these compression levels: account or reporting unit.
-
Delete Transactions After Post
-
Select this check box if you want to delete the journal transactions after they have been posted.
-
Reversing Transaction Date
-
Select the date to assign to any reversing transactions. When a reversing transaction is posted, it is assigned the original date. A second transaction is also posted with a reversing amount, using the next period start date.
-
Single Date To All Entries
-
Typically, you will use this option for Standard journals that contain recurring entries so that all the dates in the journal do not have to be reset.
-
Date For All Transactions
-
If you selected the Single Date To All Entries check box, select the date to assign to all the posted transactions.
-
Post Through
-
Select the date through which to post transactions. All transactions that are dated on or before this date are posted.
-
Increment
-
Select this check box to automatically increment the date ranges and re-run the report.
- In the grid, select Post for each journal you want to post.
- Select Override Warning to override warning errors during the posting process. Some errors detected during posting are not critical and may be overridden.
If this check box is selected, transactions are posted even if warning errors are detected. Note that not all errors can be overridden.
- This information is displayed in the grid:
-

The status of each journal is displayed:
-

-
The ID for each journal is displayed.
-
Type
-
The journal type is displayed: system or user.
-
Description
-
A description of the journal is displayed.
-
First Transaction
-
The earliest transaction date in the journal is displayed. This date is helpful for setting the Post Through date.
-
Message
-
Any errors that occurred while posting the journal(s) are displayed.
- Select Use Analytical Ledger to create a journal that posts to the Analytical Ledger. Clear this check box if you want the journal to post to the General Ledger.
- Select Print and click Process to print the results without saving them.
- Select Commit and click Process to save the results.
When you select a journal to post, journal locking is activated. Clearing a journal's selection in the Post column deactivates journal locking for it.
Before posting the journal(s), select the Print option and click Process to print the Journal Transaction Report as an audit trail of the items that will be posted. After reviewing and verifying the report, select the Commit option and click Process to start the posting process.
If you have transactions that are out of the current period but elect to post them, mass journal posting does not prohibit you from doing so. Make sure that the Post Through date is correct. The out of period warning displays only after all posting is complete.
Note: The posting process does not stop if errors are encountered. All selected journals are posted before the error messages are displayed. When finished, any errors are displayed on a journal-by-journal basis.
Once the selected system journals are posted, if there are any errors, a Mass Journal Posting Background Message report shows the error messages.
