Manually Entering a Budget
- Open the Chart of Accounts Budget and Plan form.
 - Click Actions > New.
 - Specify this information: 
           
- Account
 - Select the account for which you are adding a budget.
 - Description
 - A description of the account is displayed.
 - Unit Code (1-4)
 - Select the unit codes for the account.
 - Fiscal Year
 - The current year is displayed. Optionally, select a different year.
 - Account Type
 - The account type for the current account is displayed.
 - Hierarchy
 - The hierarchy for the current account is displayed. This field is only available on a Financial Entity database and does not display at the Site level.
 - Period
 - The fiscal period number from the Accounting Periods form is displayed based on the transaction date.
 - Start/End Date
 - The start and end date for each period is displayed. You are not required to use all 13 periods; however, the end date of one period must be one day before the start date of the next period. When the system initially creates this record, only period 1 has any dates defined. The period is a yearly period beginning with January 1 of the current actual year through December 31.
 - Budgeted Change
 - Specify the actual domestic currency amount to be budgeted. This amount is on a per period basis. The total for the year is the sum of the periods. This field is displayed in a pop-up window when you access the Budget Growth Auto-set or the Plan Growth Auto-set activities.
 - Planned Change
 - Specify the domestic currency amount to be planned. This amount is on a per period basis and the total for the year is the sum of the periods.
 - Actual Change
 - This field can only be updated if the current account is a statistical account type. Otherwise, the system calculates this field when the balance sheet account type is ALORE.
 - Total
 - The total amounts for the three columns, Budgeted Change, Planned Change, and Actual Change, is displayed.
 
 - Save the record.
