Enabling the IPF 4.x portal for development
To migrate portal content, you must first enable the portal for development and create a new content version.
- Launch the Portal Manager for the IPF 4.x configured portal for which to import content.
- Select Portal Configuration > Developer Options.
- Click Enable Portal for Development.
-
On the
New Editable Content Version form, specify this
information:
- Originator
- Specify the originator you used for the IPF 3.1 custom content.
- Default Feature
- Specify Default. For portals, if any existing components have another feature, that feature is maintained during migration even when you specify Default here.
- Click OK and then Yes.
-
Click
Save. On the
Content Activations tab
under Portal Configuration, the new content version is added with the highest
priority, because only content with the highest priority should be modified.
The Default feature is activated automatically.
The content version is also added on the Content Versions tab under Content Development. It is enabled for development and in a locked state. You should export it now and check it in to your source control system.
- Select Content Development > Export Components.
- Select the check box next to the locked content version.
- Specify the target folder to which to export the component.
- Click Export. A summary form is displayed.
- Click Start.
- You may need to click Refresh to see when the content version has been unlocked.
